Mindfulness

MINDFULNESS techniques are used at NW Therapy to help you become aware of, and accept, your thoughts and feelings without IMMEDIATE or OVER REACTION. For many of us, this can be difficult at times.

The practice of MINDFULNESS at NW Therapy can help you to feel more centred, calmed, HELP stop rumination and NEGATIVE CYCLES OF SELF-CRITICISM AND NEGATIVE THINKING.
When coupled with CBT, as in MBCT, MINDFULNESS has been clinically proven to help some people with DEPRESSION. It is also clinically proven to REDUCE CRAVINGS ESPECIALLY AMONG SMOKERS, but also others with DEPENDENCY issues because it works on the prefrontal cortex. The PREFRONTAL CORTEX is a part of the brain that deals with DELAYING GRATIFICATION and SELF-CONTROL.

At NW Therapy I work in an integrative way, not solely Utilising MINDFULNESS TECHNIQUES.
